Carter's Cupcakes

Picture
Carter's Cupcakes is a small home business that had very humble beginnings as a fundraiser for Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Newfoundland and Labrador.  My wife Kimberly decided that to help CHHA-NL raise funds to support sending families to the AG Bell Foundation Conference in Phoenix, AZ, this year that she would make cupcake bouquets for Mother's Day and donate all profits in support of CHHA-NL.  This effort was an outstanding success and over $1,100 was raised.

Since she has a natural talent for baking and cake decorating, Kimberly decided to continue baking custom cakes and cupcakes and donating 25% of all profits on a continuous basis to children's charities associated with Carter's conditions.  Hence, Carter's Cupcakes was born.  Click on the Carter's Cupcakes logo to find out more and see a gallery of Kimberly's amazing cakes!  You can also find Carter's Cupcakes on Facebook.

Easter Seals Drop Zone - St. John's 2012

Picture
My wife Kimberly and I participated in the Easter Seals 2012 Drop Zone here in St. John's in July, personally raising over $8,000 in donations toward programs and services offered by Easter Seals NL for children and young adults living with physical challenges in our community.

I encourage anyone who might have considered participating in the The Drop Zone to definitely do it next year.  It's definitely mentally challenging and an adrenaline rush, but it is the most fun that you will ever have while raising money for a great cause!  See you at Atlantic Place in 2013!

Easter Seals Drop Zone - Toronto 2012

Picture
As top fundraiser in Newfoundland and Labrador, I was invited by Easter Seals to participate in the 2012 Easter Seals Drop Zone in Toronto in October.  At 17 storeys, this was much higher than the venue in St. John's and definitely was challenging!

Click the image at the left to see a video that I shot using a camera built into my sunglasses.  The entire video was shot from a 1st person perspective and hopefully gives some idea of how high up that was!
