Mazol Shriners

Picture
Shriner's Hospitals for Children treat children under the age of 18, who have orthopedic deformities, spinal cord injuries, brittle bone disease, cleft lip and pallet disorders and severe burn afflictions.  Children in Newfoundland and Labrador are under the care and control of Mazol Shriners who arrange on average 100 hospital trips a year mostly to the Shriner's Hospital in Montreal, but for some spinal cord injuries to the Philadelphia Hospital and for some burn patients to the Burns Treatment Hospital in Boston.  All medical treatments for the children, transportation expenses for the patient and guardian is provided at no cost to the patient's family.  Mazol Shriners raise in excess of $400,000 per year to cover the costs associated with this huge undertaking.  In addition to the funds raised through the enormous efforts of its own members, Mazol Shriners also receive substantial donations from community minded companies and organizations and also from generous private individuals.  Without those donations, Mazol Shriners would not be able to continue their tireless work in support of sick children.
